Product

Adaptec APA-1460 SlimSCSI card. It's a 16-bit card, not a 32-bit cardbus card.

Driver

In 2.2.14, the driver was called aha152x_cs.o

Specification

Allows access to 50-pin external single-ended Narrow Channel SCSI devices such as SCSI scanners and SCSI DAT tape drives. Rather too slow for use with hard drives.

Installation

cardctl status 0

will show something like:

5V 16-bit PC Card function 0: [ready]

cardctl config 0

will show something like:

Vcc 5.0V Vpp1 0.0V Vpp2 0.0V interface type is "memory and I/O" irq 3 [exclusive] [level] function 0: config base 0x2000 option 0x48 io 0x0140-0x015f [auto]

cardctl ident 0

which will show something like:

product info: "Adaptec, Inc.", "APA-1460 SCSI Host Adapter", "Version 0.01" manfid: 0x012f, 0x0001

Distro here

SuSE 9.0 and Knoppix V3.6

Current support

Relatively good support in most linux distros except the "enterprise" distros.

Own experience

Mostly use if for SCSI scanner nowadays.
